Description

Lenny is a medium size male aged approximately 4 years old, he is currently residing in Hampshire - PO4. Lenny is neutered and up to date with his vaccinations. He has no known health issues. This wonderful boy was rescued from the streets of Targu Frumos, Romania back in January 2020, he resided in shelter until he moved into a UK foster home late February 2020, he was quickly adopted and moved to his current adoption home in March 2020. Sadly, a year ago Lenny nipped a visitor to the home and also a visitor to his daycare which unfortunately meant he was unable to continue attending. Along with this, his current caregivers wish to expand their family and do not feel Lenny will cope with all of the visitors, for these reasons Lenny is looking for a new home. Lenny did move to a temporary foster home however this unfortunately did not work out as they felt they could not manage his issues and therefore he moved back to his adoption home. Lenny can be picky with strangers within the home causing him to be reactive and unpredictable. Once he has built a bond with someone he is described as a lovely boy that enjoys attention. He has accepted several daycare workers and is generally more confident with people if they have a dog with them. One walks, Lenny can sporadically bark at people if he is approached or spooked suddenly. He is generally a good boy and tends to ignore other people that pass with other dogs. He can growl when he becomes overwhelmed or if someone is in his space. However, Lenny loves walks in the countryside and when on these walks and with his dog best friend he is described as in his element. He accepts a collar, harness and lead and walks well when with two people, he can become nervous when on his with one person and may freeze. Lenny can be stubborn if he wants to go somewhere. His current caregiver explains that he has very good recall and enjoys his walks when with other dogs. Lenny needs an adult only home. Lenny can be nervous around dogs when on the lead but will freeze rather than react, he enjoys playing with other dogs at daycare and has on occasions joined in with play with other dogs on walks, he has growled on one occasion when a large dog was in his face and would not leave him alone. His confidence grows when around another dog and it is felt he would benefit from sharing his home with another dog however he can be dominant and therefore a female or submissive male dog would be best Lenny has met cats on walks and will bark and lunge at them so he would therefore need a cat free home. Lenny is toilet trained but has previously had a couple of nervous accidents. He is crate trained and uses this for his safe space. He is not destructive. Lenny can be left alone for up to 6 hours and copes with this well, he will just sleep in his crate. He has previously suffered with car sickness but can now travel in the car with no issues. His current caregivers explain that Lenny likes chasing with other dogs, peanut butter, chewing his horn/ bone and de-stuffing fluffy toys. He enjoys his own space sometimes and will often spend time in the spare bedroom by himself, sleeping.
