The Tonkinese is a breed that is relatively new to the cat world and was developed in the United States in the 1950s. The cats we see today are a cross between a Burmese and a Siamese, which means they inherited a few traits from their parent breeds and their good looks. They love being around people and form exceptionally strong bonds with their owners, making them perfect companions and family pets. Being highly intelligent, sharing a home with a Tonkinese is a real pleasure as they ensure there is never a dull moment when they are around.
