The aristocratic Borzoi, also known as Russian Wolfhound, Russian Hunting Sighthound, is native to Russia, where they were used to hunt wolves. The first person to own a Borzoi in Britain was Queen Alexandra, when she was given one by the Tsar of Russia. From then on, the breed became a much respected and popular dog throughout the country and elsewhere in the world.
