The breed flaunts thick, plush coats in various colors, the most iconic being the 'British Blue' - a dense blue-grey coat. However, 'colorpoint', 'tabby', and 'tortoiseshell' patterns are also common in shades of cream, black, and white. Despite their substantial size, they are famous for their docile, calm nature, making them suitable for apartments and homes with children or other pets. Famously independent, British Shorthairs require minimal grooming and enjoy a balance of interaction and solitude.
