The Bracco Italiano, also known as Italian Pointer, is often called the Italian Pointer and is an athletic dog bred in Italy to do just that: point and retrieve. They are not so well known here in the UK, but are highly regarded in many European countries and also in their native Italy for their retrieving abilities. Braccos are large, heavy, yet elegant dogs that need enough space to roam freely in a home simply because of their size.
