The Parson Terrier, also known as Parson Jack Russell Terrier, JRT, is native to the UK, where it was originally bred to work alongside Foxhounds, although these charming dogs are now more commonly kept as companions and family dogs thanks to their friendly and loyal nature. They can have rough or smooth coats and are known for being alert, lively terriers who are never happier than when they are outside chasing a new scent. Therefore, Parson Terriers is not the best choice for people who live in apartments or lead a more sedentary life, but is a very good choice for anyone who lives in a rural setting with large, secure gardens where their dogs can run around whenever they can.
