Rex Rabbits for Sale for sale in Portsmouth, Portsmouth

The Rex rabbit, also known as the Mini Rex in its smaller form, originated in France in 1919. This breed is renowned for its plush, velvet-like fur, which results from a genetic mutation where the guard hairs are the same length as the undercoat. This unique dense and upright fur texture gives the Rex its distinctive soft feel, making it highly sought after. The breed comes in various colours and patterns, suitable for many preferences. Physically, the standard Rex is medium to large-sized, weighing between 7.5 and 10.5 lbs, while the Mini Rex is more diminutive, weighing 3 to 4.5 lbs. Temperament-wise, Rex rabbits are calm, docile, and friendly, making them excellent pets for families and individuals alike. They enjoy gentle handling and interaction, thriving in environments where they receive daily exercise and mental stimulation. When considering care, it's essential to provide a spacious cage with soft flooring to prevent sore hocks, a common issue due to their delicate fur padding. Their diet should mainly consist of unlimited grass hay, supplemented with quality pellets and fresh greens. Keywords like \"rex rabbit,\" \"mini rex rabbit,\" and \"rex rabbits for sale\" reflect the breed's popularity in the UK market among pet enthusiasts.
