Hello !
and welcome to Friends inDeed Dog Rescue
We are a small, family run, Rescue on the outskirts of Oundle, Peterborough.
Originally from Romania, we came to England 15 years ago - having been offered jobs by some respectable British Employers, for whom we are still working at the moment.
As we are extremely passionate about animals, we managed to save the lives of more than 100 dogs and cats, so far. Some of them have found homes in Romania, in France, Germany, Holland and Belgium - with the help of many friends/other charities who share our values. In the UK, we started by rehoming a few doggies in 2017, through different reputable organisations, but -as we got more and more involved in this extremely difficult activity (!)- it made sense to start our own Rescue.
Until July 2021, we have rehomed around 70 doggies, in total, in Britain ; they are all well looked after and loved. We keep in touch with all adopters and we offer Rescue Backup.
We believe that this world can and will be a better place for us all, not just for humans, but for animals, as well. Children and other vulnerable persons are worthy of sympathy and help ; we appreciate governments’ and charities’ efforts all over the world. We, too, offered our modest support to Children in Need.
However, we think that too little is being done yet for the welfare of animals – who cannot talk ; they have hardly any rights and no … governments to defend them. Animals are intelligent beings who deserve to be treated with respect. Helping them is our DEED !
We disagree with the help we are all giving to healthy people able to but not willing to work. We disagree with Hunting animals as a … “sport”… !
We believe in the Power of Compassion.
It doesn’t matter where the poor soul is from – when a dog comes from England, Ireland or Romania, whether is he/she young or old, healthy or poorly makes no difference ; we will help if we can.
We believe that Friends in Need are FRIENDS INDEED.
Our Charity was registered by the Charities Commission at number 1191077, in August 2020.
Our preferred method of contact is over the phone or WhatsApp (07527129642) - as we work during the day, with limited access to messages through Pets4Homes ; it is also more expedient - we can exchange most information in one go.
We are doing substantial efforts to save these lives. We reserve the right to ask any / different amount as donation for our rescue dogs or cats - depending on circumstances – from £100 to £1,000. In most cases, we are hardly covering the latest costs ; any difference from our expenditure will go for our good cause and save more lives. The adoption donations are to help us cover some of the Shelter costs, Veterinary fees, Transport etc etc – enabling us to save more lives.
Should you be interested in discussing the asking price (even a break-down) of the dog who caught your eye, please do not hesitate to call us. We are flexible and open (…minded)
We keep in touch with absolutely all adopters (just over 70 families, so far). On request, we can obtain & provide very good references from any of them.
We receive a high number of pointless messages or calls and we really do not afford wasting valuable time… We do NOT supply dogs to people who are not well intentioned adopters. So, if you are not a genuine dog loving person / family, please do yourself(ves) and us a favour and look somewhere else.
Home-Check is compulsory.
We are sorry, but we will not rehome dogs to families with children under 10 years old.
You must have your own garden. Also, you must have your landlord’s permission to bring in a dog - if you are renting the property.
You will be required to provide and sign legally binding documents. We appreciate your understanding.
Should you adopt a rescue dog from us - you agree to offer her/him good care and affection ! You will also agree to keep in touch with us - so we can help with any issues.
We do not have a multi-million-pound head office, we don’t travel with business class and we don’t have any personal use income from our rescue activity. Apart from the adoption fees, we hardly get any donations.
If anybody thinks that our story is only about success, they are very wrong : We have over 30 dogs non-rehomable (old, blind, aggressive or with other issues) in our care, now. Every single day we rescue at least a poorly soul who needs expensive veterinary assistance. We have dogs dying - after unsuccessful operations or treatments. Not even in the most desperate cases, are we letting them down and we have never put a dog to sleep.
Also, we would like to make an appeal to those few persons (based in Hungary, Romania or in the UK) - calling themselves “rescuers” or such, when in fact they are using this only to ask and receive donations ; moreover, they try to make some kind of Police or -better said- Gestapo on Facebook or on the pet advertising web-sites, sabotaging us probably with the intention of drawing more attention (therefore … donations) towards them or just to express in a hysterical way their frustrations. Ladies, please stop harassing honest, hardworking people and start doing something useful to this world ! Get a job and stop pestering us !
So, Please, Please - NO TIMEWASTERS !
In most cases, our dogs arrive from Romania in authorised Van (fully licensed and insured transporters) straight to their new families’ doors – almost anywhere in the UK. This may happen at a reasonable time (during the day), but also at 2 o’clock in the morning – so we would appreciate your understanding – as, in most cases, this is out of our hands… In case you cannot or do not want this way of handling, please let us know and we’ll arrange collection from our premises in Oundle, PE8.
