Meet Brackenbain

My name is Clair, and dogs have always been a huge part of my life. At Brackenbain, my passion is breeding and training dogs that are not only beautiful examples of their breed, but also healthy, intelligent, capable and a pleasure to live and work with. My dogs are very much part of my everyday life. I have a particular love for working gundogs and dogs with natural ability, drive and a willingness to learn. Many of my dogs are actively worked and trained, giving me the opportunity to see their temperament, trainability and working ability first-hand rather than breeding purely on appearance. When planning a litter, I put a great deal of thought into the combination of the sire and dam, considering health, temperament, working ability, conformation and the qualities I hope to carry forward into the next generation. My aim is to produce confident, well-rounded puppies with the potential to excel in a variety of homes — whether that is working in the field, taking part in gundog training or other activities, showing, or simply being a much-loved and active family companion. Every puppy is raised with care, and I take great pride in watching Brackenbain puppies go on to become valued members of their new families. For me, breeding isn’t simply about producing a litter; it’s about continually striving to produce healthy, capable dogs with wonderful temperaments and giving each puppy the best possible start in life.
