I have been breeding dogs for 20 years now. I started breeding pedigree Golden Retrievers, Flat Coated Retrievers and Labrador Retrievers. About 10 years ago resulted in my first litter of Goldador’s (Labrador x Golden Retriever) although devastated at the time being a bit of a pedigree snob I soon realised that this mistake was good news for my customers, many of whom have children/teenagers with additional needs, as my crossed dogs tend to be calmer than their pedigree counterparts making great companion dogs.
I retire my dogs at 6 years old, all my girls have been bred here, so I know the health and temperament of parents, grandparents and great grandparents so now only breed from those with the best health and temperament. I buy my stud dogs in to ensure new blood and health test them as I have no family history for them, so it’s important. I feel it’s very important to offer ongoing support for everyone who gets a Brucklay puppy, so each litter has its own WhatApp group as well as direct support from myself on an individual basis.
