I am a semi-retired Veterinary Surgeon , who after 45 years of looking after dogs has decided to take another tack involving Gundogs.
I have been working dogs in the shooting field both, beating and picking up, over the last 20years.
I have been trialling Springer Spaniels and Cocker Spaniels with a fair degree of success achieving many awards and winning both novice and open trials.
Over the last 5 years I have qualified a bitch for the English Springer Championships twice and have made her up to Field Trial Champion, Maggie won 3 open trial on ice and had a second.place with guns choice ( I made the mistake!).
I have Open and Novice dogs that are trialling at this time.
I also work my Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, Labradors, Springer Spaniels and Cocker Spaniels picking up and beating.
I have also competed with my Chesapeake Bay Retrievers with some success individually and in team competitions.
As a Vet it was important to show that I have standards to maintain , so I obtained a 5* Breeders licence as well to show that I meet the criteria to the highest level I can.
As a responsible breeder I decided to start Training Classes, especially with Chesapeakes in mind some 16 years ago and this has grown into classes for puppies, social non gun-dog classes, as well as separate retriever and spaniel classes for beginners , and an advanced class for gundogs in an evening/day classes.
I also do one to one lessons and occasionally take on individual dogs for boarding and training.
I have bred Chesapeakes, Labradors, Springer Spaniels and cocker spaniels.
My aim is to breed dogs fit and healthy for purpose and that they have the temperament to make good pets and working dogs and they are at ease in the home environment so make good companions in both the home and field.
