I have had Athena since she was 6 months and I got her from my dad who had had her since a pup, she has been my rock and is the most remarkable companion I could have ever asked for! She is a mixed breed of Amstaff X Husky on her mums side and Staffy X Bully on her dad’s. The bully genes shine through in her build, she has heterochromatic eyes having one blue and one brown, which come from the husky, and she sports a perfect example of Irish spotting. When she was 2 we decided she needed a friend and we got Ares, he came from my cousin who had an accidental litter between her Female Doberman and Male Labrador Retriever. Out of a very mixed litter he came out almost full Doberman with the perfect Doberman frame and markings to match.
Both of their temperaments actually match their names too well! Athena is extremely stoic and proud, she is intelligent beyond reason and can be stubborn due to her intelligence, she is motherly and caring by nature, but do not get it twisted she is also a full on beast within her own right. Although pregnancy has been hard on her when she is fit and healthy and not being drained by 7 puppies she is naturally 30KG plus, she stands at 22 inches at the withers and dwarths many dogs of “similar breed type”. Her energy level is incomparable with regular dogs and would be akin to a working breed, she is always ready to go although she can be relaxed and chilled most of the day she requires and desires a good amount of exercise daily.
Ares much like his namesake is a vicious bloodthirsty little crybaby. If anyone knows Dobermans they know the most accurate description there was cry baby because the vicious and bloodthirsty-ness is only with controlled and consensual play. However if you didn’t know Dobermans (or dogs) you would genuinely believe he was the spawn of hell however his energy level and playfulness come together to give one of the most powerful and “I still think I’m a tiny puppy so I’ll throw myself around in such a manner and break your legs” way possible. He will cry if he doesn’t get enough attention and he will bark like he is being battered just for leaving him for two minutes. Again these are very “Dobermann” traits but along with these quirks comes a dog that is always watching, naturally intuned with his humans emotions and is ready to stand his ground whether it’s a scary bike or a dog 10x his size.
Together they both mature and keep each other young, when it’s time to play you have never seen such large puppies, when it’s time to be protect you have never seen such fierce warriors, when it’s time to cuddle up with their humans, or children or other animals they don’t want to move.
In all sense of the word, and for every reason humans domesticated wolves in the first place these are some of the best dogs you could meet.
Their puppies although accidental are almost guaranteed to be the most precious addition to any family.
The pups have been handled by humans daily, as well as met other animals including bunnies, as well as larger dogs not including mum and dad, as well as played happily with children.
To find better dogs would be difficult especially when considering the breeds that these puppies carry there has never been a more perfect balance of genes that are both fully human focussed, but also independent enough to self soothe and learn on their own, that are soft and cuddly but able to protect you and your family at the drop of a hat.
They are Godly Pups there is no comparison.
