🐾 About Me / Our Kennel I am a UK licensed breeder running a small, carefully planned breeding programme under the kennel name Calladano Kennels. My focus is on producing healthy, well-balanced, and well-socialised puppies that are true to their breed type and suitable for both loving family homes and, where appropriate, the show ring. I work with two breeds within my programme: Portuguese Water Dogs and Chinese Crested Dogs. My Portuguese Water Dogs are bred with a strong emphasis on temperament, working ability, and health, ensuring they are confident, intelligent, and versatile companions suited to active family lifestyles. My Chinese Crested programme is equally focused on health, correct breed type, and temperament, with carefully planned litters and fully health-tested parents. All dogs and puppies are raised inside our home as part of daily family life, ensuring they are well socialised, confident, and accustomed to normal household environments from an early age. As a veterinary nurse, I bring a strong professional understanding of canine health and welfare into my breeding programme. This allows me to give detailed, informed care throughout every stage — from planning matings, through pregnancy and birth, to raising and placing puppies in their new homes. I intentionally work with a small number of carefully planned litters, allowing me to give each puppy and family individual attention, guidance, and lifelong support. I believe responsible breeding extends far beyond the point of sale, and I remain available to all my puppy owners for advice and support throughout the dog’s life. My priority is always to match each puppy with the most suitable home, ensuring a happy, stable, and lifelong partnership between dog and owner. Serious, committed enquiries are always welcome.
