Welcome to TeddyGems, a small, loving British Shorthair cattery based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
We are passionate about raising beautiful, confident, well-socialised British Shorthair kittens with the classic teddy-bear look and gentle, affectionate temperaments the breed is so loved for.
Our cats are treasured family members first and foremost. Kittens are raised indoors in our home with lots of care, handling, enrichment and everyday household sounds, helping them grow into happy, confident companions.
We breed thoughtfully, with health, temperament and type at the heart of everything we do. Our kittens leave for their new homes fully prepared, with a carefully put-together kitten pack, familiar food, litter, support and guidance to help them settle beautifully.
TeddyGems kittens are suitable as indoor-only pets and will only be placed with loving, committed homes who understand the needs of the breed.
We are proud to be working with quality British Shorthair lines and are registered with GCCF and TICA.
What our kittens leave with:
- GCCF/TICA registration where applicable
- Vaccinations and veterinary health checks
- Microchip
- Flea and worming treatment as appropriate
- Kitten pack with familiar food and litter
- Ongoing breeder support

Benjamin is a handsome chocolate British Shorthair stud currently owned by Bexivia British Shorthairs. He has a wonderful, affectionate temperament and exhibits many of the qualities we value in the breed, including excellent type, substance, and a calm, gentle nature.
Benjamin carries both cinnamon and dilute, making him an exciting addition to our breeding plans. We carefully selected him as the sire of Ember’s first litter due to his pedigree, temperament, and beautiful rich chocolate colouring.
We are incredibly grateful to Bexivia British Shorthairs for allowing us to use Benjamin and are excited to see the wonderful kittens he has produced with Aurora.

LUNABEARS Aurora Sunrise (Ember)
Ember is our beautiful lilac tortie British Shorthair queen and the foundation of our TeddyGems breeding programme. She has a sweet, affectionate nature and loves being involved in family life, while also displaying the calm and gentle temperament the breed is known for.
Health and welfare are our top priorities. Ember has been carefully selected for her excellent temperament, pedigree, and health testing. She is blood group B, carries cinnamon, and is pure shorthaired. She is a much-loved member of our family and is raised in a clean, enriching home environment alongside our other British Shorthairs.
Ember also enjoys attending cat shows and has achieved success in the show hall, reflecting her quality and breed type. We are excited to see her qualities passed on to future TeddyGems kittens.
