Description
Hello, my name is Alice.
I am about 2 years old and weigh around 3 kilograms. I am a tiny little girl with a very special look , one of my eyes is blue and the other one is brown.
I came to the UK from abroad. I was originally brought here for breeding, but things did not go as planned. I don't know if I was lucky or unlucky here. But it turned out that I could not have puppies, and I also developed two hernias that needed treatment. Because of this, the person who brought me here decided they did not want me anymore.
Luckily for me, kind people from the small rescue organisation Don’t Buy a Dog stepped in and gave me a second chance. My hernias were sorted and I was also spayed to make sure that I never come in season.
When they first took me in, I was quite thin and had not experienced much of normal family life. Since then, they have been taking wonderful care of me. I am now healthy, well fed (I love my raw food!), and back to a good weight of about 3 kilograms.
I am also learning all the things a happy little dog should know. I am almost house-trained and understand that I should do my business outside. In a new environment I may need a bit of time to adjust, but I am a clever girl and I learn quickly.
I have also learned to walk nicely on the lead and I really enjoy my walks now. Exploring the world is something quite new for me, and I am discovering that it can be a lot of fun.
I currently live in a foster home with other dogs and cats. Cats are not interesting to me at all, I simply ignore them. I enjoy playing with the dogs I live with and feel comfortable around them. When meeting new dogs outside I can sometimes feel a little unsure at first but I have never been aggressive.
I am a very loving and people-oriented little dog. My favourite place is close to my human whether that means following you around the house or curling up next to you when it is time to sleep. I also travel very well in the car. I am also crate trained.
Because I sometimes get a little excited and may jump up to greet people, I would probably be best suited to a home with older, sensible children rather than very small ones.
What I truly want is a calm, loving home where I can continue learning what it means to be someone’s beloved dog.
