Description
Quick Facts
• Breed: Doberman cross, black coat, often mistaken for a black Labrador
• Age: 2 years old, 9/9/23
• Distinctive feature: Big expressive eyes and wonderfully silly cartoon style antics when excited
Nibby is a bright, enthusiastic dog who experiences the world at full volume. She is friendly with people and dogs and approaches life with a lot of heart and a lot of energy. Outdoors she is adventurous and athletic, happiest when she can stretch her legs on long countryside walks or chase a ball.
Indoors she settles well and enjoys being close to her people, often curling up on the sofa in the evening and resting her head on your lap while you watch TV.
With people, Nibby is affectionate and people focused. She loves company and likes to be near you rather than left to her own devices. She can get over excited when greeting or when attention becomes too intense, showing this through jumping, spinning or tail chasing. She responds best to calm presence rather than lots of hands on fuss and once she settles she is relaxed and content. She is fully potty trained, sleeps happily in her crate and can be left alone for up to 6 hours with a walk in the middle.
Nibby is intelligent and thrives on engagement. She needs both physical exercise and mental stimulation and would suit someone who enjoys training or wants to learn more about it. Recall is a work in progress and she currently walks on a long line as she can be overly enthusiastic about other dogs. Her friendliness is never aggressive but can be overwhelming, especially for dogs who prefer quieter interactions. With guidance and positive training support she has the potential to develop calmer social skills.
Playtime is one of Nibby’s favourite things. She adores chasing a ball, especially with a tennis ball thrower, and enjoys toys with a satisfying crunchy noise. She has bursts of zoomy energy and is known for walking in excited circles, doing little half flips and occasionally chasing her own tail. Despite all that energy she also values rest and will happily take crate naps or wind down on the sofa after a full day.
