I’m desperately looking for an experienced, patient home, foster placement or rescue space for my cat, Lumen.
I’m genuinely distraught by her condition. I no longer live at the property where she is based (she lives at my ex husband’s and I am not in a position to take her), and have not been able to monitor her closely or work consistently on rebuilding her trust. I have contacted rescues but have not yet found a place able to take her. I have tried all sorts of rescues, at this point I’m becoming desperate for someone to help.
Lumen now spends most of her time hiding in a neighbour’s shed and enters the house mainly to eat. She used to prefer being indoors, but after attempts to catch her, she became frightened of staying inside and now avoids it because she fears being trapped.
I have not been able to properly see or examine her for several months, so I cannot confirm her current condition. She has had fleas and hair loss, and may need veterinary assessment and treatment. I can’t comment on her current condition as I haven’t been able to see her for some time.
I also need to be clear that I cannot catch her myself. She is extremely frightened and difficult to approach, and further attempts have made her more wary. Anyone helping would need to be able to catch or humanely trap her safely, or have access to someone experienced who can do so.
Lumen needs a secure environment, considerable patience and someone experienced with very nervous cats. She should not be expected to behave like a confident family pet immediately; rebuilding her trust will take time.
I am not asking for money. I just want her safe. Please contact me if you can offer her a suitable home, foster placement or rescue space, or if you have experience with frightened cats, humane trapping or rescue work.
