Description
Hero - 16.1hh (ish) rising 5 (April) thoroughbred gelding.
I bought Hero as a project to bring on in the spring but my circumstances have changed and I can no longer keep him. He is the sweetest boy ever, I will really miss him.
He’s been lunged in tack.
I’ve taken him on in hand walks in just a headcollar and he’s loved that, seen cows, cars, vans etc in the lanes.
He’s been sat on by his previous owner and also by myself. However, he is not backed. He is a project.
Not done much since around October time due to not having a school and it getting dark early etc.
Absolutely perfect on the ground, the best boy in the stable and to and from the field. Easy to catch. Is fine to be left out by himself and is also fine stabled alone.
Good to turn out (walks on the end of the rope).
Good for farrier (barefoot).
Good to pick out feet (he picks them up for you).
Good to rug.
Good to mount (he stood perfect when I got on him).
Good to groom.
Ties up well.
Essentially he’s had all the ground work just needs someone to get him started properly under saddle. Which I think will be very easy, he just takes it all in his stride.
Only the best home where he will be loved, not just jumped on and pulled round.
He does have a scar on his hind leg from a field injury before I had him. Doesn’t affect him at all, and hair is almost fully covering it now.
Picture of scar included. If this puts you off don’t message :)
No facilities at my yard but can trot him up and I have videos of him being lunged in the autumn.
