About Lonzo
Poor Lonzo hasn’t had the best run of luck since arriving in the UK. His first home felt he was too bouncy for their young son, and now sadly his second home feel they can’t offer him the kind of lifestyle he truly needs. Lonzo is, and has always been, a silly, goofy boy with a big personality, no understanding of personal space or his size, and a boisterous (but innocent) play style. He’s looking for an active home that can give him all the fun and fuss he’s desperate for.
Lonzo was found without a collar or microchip, wandering the outskirts of Nicosia in Cyprus earlier this year, looking for food and water. He is estimated to be around 1-2 years old, so still quite a young dog who definitely needs some focus and continued training in a new home. He absolutely loves people and believes everyone is his bestie. He loves any kind of attention and is a very sociable boy who loves to please people.
Although Lonzo is currently living as the only resident dog, he would benefit from a settled resident dog to learn from. He was always very adaptable to new kennel mates in Cyprus, and has attended daycare in the UK where he was a very friendly boy towards everyone. A resident dog would be great for him to learn some manners, to settle at home, and simply to have a best friend to play with too.
Lonzo’s foster family describe him as funny, very friendly, and a little bit dopey! He loves his bed, is a sucker for a belly rub, and just wants to be involved in everything. He is an excitable, enthusiastic boy and can be quite jumpy, but he doesn’t mean to cause any bother - he is just always on a mission to make new friends. Because of this, we think he would be better suited to a home with children aged 10+ so he doesn’t knock anyone over, as he is a strong dog.
Lonzo is still getting to grips with lead training, and gets very excited to go outside. After around 15 minutes he really calms down and walks well on the lead, so it will just take a bit of continued training and consistency. On walks he is happy to say hello to anyone and everyone, dogs and people.
Lonzo is looking for a semi-rural home with a garden and an active lifestyle. He would prefer an away from busy roads and lots of noise, and wouldn’t enjoy being left at home alone for extended periods of time. He very much wants to be involved and in good company, as he’s people oriented, and he loves being outdoors, exploring. He is also a water baby and loves to splash about!
Lonzo is a fantastic character and anyone who adopts him will be very lucky to welcome him into the family. He is big and bouncy, but also has a huge heart and such a willingness to learn. He’s smart, incredibly loyal, and will truly make the best friend given the opportunity.
