Roxy is a very loveable dog she loves nothing more than a cuddle on the sofa and a belly rub. She enjoys walking and has around 30-60 min walk a day. She is on Kibble and enjoys treats such as peanut butter in her Kong, Chicken feet , rabbits ears. She is walked off lead occasionally if no other dogs in sight but her recall is not 100% and loves to play with other larger dogs so off lead until recall is 100% is vital. She can sometimes try and dominate smaller dogs but not always. We have two small children 1 and 6 years old and she is great with them and they love her dearly. She is fine with anyone that visits our home and never shown any aggression to a new person. She can be a bit of a thief if things are left on the side that she fancies so there is definitely room for training here. She can also guard some things such as bones and tennis balls but usually can be districted away from them with some chicken/ham. This is also another area for training. She does not guard her food. She is crated at night and also when we are not home and can be left between 4-5 hours.
We are rehoming Roxy because our life style isn’t best for her. With having the two small children we have had to separate her within the home so she is free to rome in an area and so are they. She likes to think that all toys are hers so is constantly trying to pick there toys up etc. Given her size and weight (approx 40kg) just turning around or nudging our youngest daughter could cause injury and is becoming challenging at home especially if she is excited. We don’t want her to separate from us but unfortunately how it has to be. She has a large area with a sofa and can see and hear us all the time so she isn’t completely separate from us.
She has a lovely nature and would be a great companion to the right owner. We are not in a rush to rehome her and will only rehome her to the right home for her. Ideally someone who is working at home, has children over the age of 10, no other dogs or cats. Big enough garden for her to play as she loves to be outside especially laying in the sunshine.
