Description
With a very heavy heart, we are looking to find a new home for our beautiful girl, Molly. This has been an incredibly difficult decision, and our absolute priority is finding her a home where she will feel safe, understood, and able to thrive.
Molly is a small, fully grown dog (approx. 9kg) who we rescued from Romania. We adopted her at 6 months old, and while she has made lovely progress, her early start in life means she can struggle with reactivity, particularly when out on walks. She had never experienced being on a lead before coming to us, so this has been a big adjustment for her.
She is currently in training and improving, but she will need a patient and experienced owner who understands reactive or nervous dogs and can continue building her confidence.
Molly currently lives with other dogs and gets along well with our male dog. However, she has struggled to live peacefully alongside our older female dog, which is the reason we have made the difficult decision to rehome her. This behaviour appeared following a phantom pregnancy, which also meant a delay in neutering. All being well she is booked in next week for this. We have sought advice and understand this can be hormonally influenced.
Because of this, Molly would be best suited to being the only dog in the home, or potentially living with a compatible male dog following careful introductions.
Molly would be best suited to:
* An adult-only home or with older children (she loves my 10 and 12 year olds but has been known to bark at their friends!)
* Someone with experience of rescue or reactive dogs
* A calm, consistent environment
* An owner who can dedicate time to ongoing training and confidence-building
At home, Molly is incredibly sweet and affectionate. She loves human company and nothing makes her happier than curling up next to you on the sofa. She forms strong bonds and will make a very loyal, loving companion in the right home.
This decision has not been taken lightly, so we are in no rush and will only let her go to the right home. Her future happiness and wellbeing are our top priority. I am very reluctant and upset to let her go but it is just not fair on my elderly dog.
Please message with any questions.
