Description

PLEASE READ WHOLE ADVERT BEFORE ENQUIRING Hiya. I am very reluctantly and heartbreakingly selling my gorgeous 6 foot female dwarf boa with full set up. I got her a year and a half ago when she was around 4.5 foot and she has since almost got to 6 foot ( I think, she’s hard to measure) and has gotten too big for me to handle. I’m not very experienced in snakes and now I find it hard to get her out and handle her. She used to be a very calm snake when I got her out regularly. But since she has gained the attitude of a teenager and is extremely sassy. She has never hissed, I think she only tried to strike once but she bit herself like a numpty. She huffs and puffs and does that weird sharp wiggle thing if you try to handle her and I can’t lie I’m a bit afraid to get her out as her attitude is getting out of control. I need her to go to someone who has plenty of experience and some time to bring back her old gentle nature (I know she’s in there). I reckon she’s about 4-5 years old. Her name is Dakota, it really suits her. She feeds really well and has never missed a feed. She strikes within seconds of seeing the rat. ( only been fed dead rat) I have a couple frozen rats that can go with her. I’ve been feeding her 1 XL rat every month and seems to be keeping her weight healthy. She is a perfectly healthy boa, no issues, no mites. Sheds amazing about every 2-3 months. Sometimes her mouth swells up with water. Only happened a couple times and it goes down by itself. VIDEO SHOWS CAGE IN DETAIL. Currently she is in a 5 foot by 3 foot by 3 foot GRO tent setup. It is secure but not waterproof. It needs a tarpaulin in the bottom and also fresh substrate. I use the very water absorbent wood chips. The cage has multiple hides, a humid hide. A large water bowl. Plenty of forage, decor and branches. It comes with 2 heat lamps, one ceramic and one light heat lamp as these are both needed to keep the temps up. It used to have an automatic mister but I went through 2 of these and they both broke, could do with a better one really. I now just soak the substrate twice a week. The cage has a cut in the zip where my rabbit stupidly decided to cut the zip in half but it doesn’t affect usage as have put zip ties as a stopper so the zips can’t go past it and come off and also has 2 clips as a lock. It has 2 thermostats to change temp and 2 gauges for humidity and temps. The cage WILL go with the snake and she will be kept in it unless you can prove to me you have a set up as big, bigger or better than mine. Dakota on her own will be £100 but £300 with the set up. The reason for sale is through no fault of her own. I love her to bits. It’s because she’s too big for me to handle and I have 2 rabbits in my room and the fear of her escaping or accidently leaving the cage unlocked and her eating them is enough for me to unfortunately have to rehome her. And it’s also not fair to have prey and predator in the same room, although they can’t see eachother. Please only enquire if you are genuinely looking to rehome her and have proof that you are experienced and capable of giving her the proper care and attention needed Collection Sutton bridge or can deliver but will cost a bit extra
