Description
I have confirmed with the owner again and he said they are roughly under 1 year. Roughly between 8 to 10 months. They are not mature. Male + Female (bonded) green ring-neck birds are looking for a responsible and gentle owner!
They have had past trauma with rough handling in the past just to be sold (sadly), so we are caring for them until a reliable person is willing to step up. They have been together since bought and are very attached to each other, so they will only be sold as a pair.
What I mean by past trauma: they’ve had some rough handling in the past from sellers, so they can be skittish and hesitant about being touched. They’re not aggressive or injured - they just need patience and gentle interaction to feel safe again. With regular calm handling, they usually become comfortable. I usually leave them be, let them out of their cage to fly and feed and sit by them so they recognise me as someone trust-worthy and harmless. They become completely comfortable and authentic with your presence but with touching and close approach, they become tentative and fly away.
Temperament:
• Male is curious, noisy, more active, vocal (screams), energetic, curious, easily frightened, flies away anxiously when you approach the cage unlike the girl and is more eager flying, climbing and mostly just restless.
• Female is self-reserved, intelligent, curious yet tentative, more open than the male, is quiet overall. She is less vocal and makes little curious whimper sounds, doesn’t scream, is calm and more sleepy. More inviting, docile. She’s so cute!
To tell the difference: she has a rounded, adorable and fluffed up face rather than the male and is smaller than him in size.
• They enjoy apple, lettuce as snacks and rewards and currently eat mixed parrot seeds for everyday diet - our mix of bird seeds will come with the birds as a free gift! They love almonds, small portion and occasionally given as treats.
Both birds have unique personalities, they just make your day! They groom each other, sometimes bicker, annd occasionally fly out if confident enough (female is more shy, the male, male loves taking flight and thinking carefully about his next destination, whether it is flying from the cage to the shelf lol).
They huddle together and fly to the furthest corner at approach - as I said, let them get used to you at first by consistent presence and without any sudden movements. Female is more brave and intelligent and she can analyse your behaviour more than male, he just usually is more anxious and hates being close to humans. She knows your motives but as I said it just takes TIME being touched.
Price for bonded pair (please if you have a big cage then DON’T buy ours, it is small, however if you need something to start until you buy one quickly we can give it.): £450
