Description
Ember is a 4.5 year old cross breed (believed to be Belgian malinois x German shepherd. She is currently in Aberdeenshire, and due to family changes, she is looking for a new forever home. Ember has been with her family for 4 years.
This is what her existing family says about this stunning girl –
Ember is very loving once she gets to know you but can be nervous / reactive of strangers. She has also been nervous of small kids in the past. She is fine with other dogs however can be lead reactive. She regularly stays at my mums house with 2 other dogs and 2 cats. She is also good around our horses.
She is very active and loves long walks, running on the beach and in open fields. She has very good recall
Despite initially having some separation anxiety she can now be left on her own for periods of time (we’ve left her up to 5 hours without an issue)
She has had operations on both elbows for elbow dysplasia however has made a full recovery and it doesn’t seem to hinder her
Ember has received positive training and continues with her training. This has helped her with her confidence and socialising. She has learnt her cue for when the family have visitors, and she is also happy to chill out in a separate room, when it gets too noisy for her.
A main trait of these mix breeds, is due to their intelligence and strong work ethic, Belgian Malinois X German Shepherds benefit greatly from obedience training. These dogs are quick learners and respond well to positive reinforcement techniques. Consistent training can help channel their energy into productive behaviors and strengthen the bond between owner and pet.
Ember requires an experienced and active home, someone that has knowledge of her mixed breeds, and will continue to provide her with training, guidance and stimulation. She needs an adopter that will support her and be the one she looks upto.
She is suitable for a home with teenage children, as an only dog or can happily lve with another large size dog, where they will have the chance to meet first. She is currently spending time with other dogs and cats.
The home must be quite rural, so she can enjoy wonderful long walks,
