🐶 Name; Rex 🐶 Breed; Chow Chow 🐶 Age; 6 months 🐶 Sex; Male 🐶 Background; Rex had been taken to a vets by his previous owner for euthanasia. We were told a toddler had crawled up to him and he snapped at them. The vets were desperate to find a rescue space for him. 🐶 Personality; Rex is a typical Chow who has had an unsettled upbringing bouncing around homes as a puppy. This has left him poorly socialised and as a result he can be reactive to strangers. 🕓 Left alone; up to 6 hours a day 💩 House training; Rex is clean in his kennel and we think he would pick this up quickly in a home too. 🏃‍♀️Exercise; Rex is a young boy who enjoys his walks and will need a moderate-high amount of exercise - minimum 45 minutes x 2 per day. ✂️Grooming; Chow Chows need A LOT of grooming to keep on top of their coats. Regular appointments with an experienced groomer will be required, please consider this additional cost if applying. 👀 Adopter Requirements; We are looking for someone who has plenty of experience of Chow Chow’s and their quirky natures. Rex will most benefit from a quiet home with someone dedicated to working with him on his socialisation so that he can live his life to the full. 🏡 Home/garden needs; a quiet home with a private secure garden. 👶Minimum age of children; Rex needs a home with NO kids or ANY visiting kids. 🐕Resident dogs (must be already neutered, this is not negotiable); Rex can live with another dog subject to a successful meet and greet. 🐈 Cat tested; Not Tested 🩺 Medical issues; No known health problems. Rex is too young to be neutered and needs some further socialisation first, he will be neutered in our clinic in Melling when ready. His new owners will need to bring him to us for his surgery (which will be a midweek appointment), this is non-negotiable. All our dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, parasite treated and come with 5 weeks free insurance.
