Description

Midnight's story began just a few streets away. He started appearing in the gardens of local residents, quietly searching for food. Over a number of weeks, kind neighbours kept an eye on him as he became thinner and thinner. By the time Every Cat Matters was contacted, Midnight was painfully skinny, covered in scratches and wounds, and clearly struggling to survive on the streets. After checking for a microchip and searching for an owner, it became clear that no one was looking for this lovely boy. So Midnight officially became part of the Every Cat Matters family, and he's never looked back. Estimated to be around 2–3 years old, Midnight has surprised us every single day. Despite whatever life has thrown at him, he has the most gentle, affectionate nature. He absolutely adores people and will happily greet you with the sweetest little headbutts before melting into your hands for chin rubs and head scratches. Once you start fussing him, his purr switches on like a little engine and doesn't seem to stop. One thing you'll quickly learn about Midnight is that he loves his food! He'll happily have a little chat around mealtimes to make sure you haven't forgotten, and his funny, conversational personality is impossible not to fall in love with. Although he's incredibly affectionate and he really does love company, Midnight is still adjusting to life indoors. Sudden loud noises and fast movements can make him a little unsure, which is completely understandable after spending time fending for himself outside. The wonderful thing is that every day his confidence grows. He's learning that a home is a safe place where he doesn't have to worry about where his next meal is coming from, and watching him relax has been incredibly rewarding. Midnight is a wonderfully clean and tidy house guest. He has settled into foster care brilliantly, uses his litter tray perfectly, and has shown just how well he has adapted to indoor life. He enjoys playing too, especially with feather wand toys that let him show off his natural hunting instincts. Noisy toys aren't really his thing, but quietly chasing feathers is a favourite pastime. He's also shown himself to be a lovely, gentle cat around children. The family who helped gain his trust before his rescue had children, and Midnight happily accepted gentle strokes and affection from them. We think Midnight would thrive in a loving home where he can continue to build his confidence. He would be perfectly happy living indoors, particularly if he has plenty of space and enrichment. Equally, because he has spent much of his life outdoors, we think he would really appreciate safe outdoor access in the future, such as a secure catio or a specially cat-proofed garden. As with all rescued cats, he would need to remain indoors for at least 8–10 weeks before any outdoor access is introduced. Midnight has survived life on the streets, but he shouldn't have to ever again. Now all he needs is a family who will show him that he never has to wonder where his next meal is coming from, sleep with one eye open, or face another cold night alone. Midnight is: ✅ Vaccinated ✅ Microchipped ✅ Neutered ✅ Dewormed ✅ Blood tested ✅ Vet health check If you can offer Midnight a loving happy ever-after, please get in touch today! We will send you a link to complete our online pre-adoption form and we will also require a home video check as part of our process. If you have any questions, please reach out and one of our small team of volunteers will get back to you as soon as possible. Please note: Every Cat Matters is an indoor-only rescue. This means all our cats should be kept in a safe, enriching indoor environment, unless they have access to a secure cat-proof garden, catio, or netted balcony. We believe cats can live full, happy lives without having unrestricted outdoor access. Keeping them safe indoors protects them from road accidents, injuries, contagious illnesses, and territorial fights - while also helping to preserve local wildlife. With love, enrichment, and security, indoor cats and those in secure environments, truly thrive and live their longest lives.
