Meet Beautiful Catie 🌸 Catie is a stunning Shepherd x Retriever cross with the floof of a Golden Retriever, the proud, sweeping tail of a Husky, and a heart full of devotion. She was originally found by our rescue as a tiny puppy. Sadly, after five years in a home, she was surrendered back into our care heavily overmedicated and overweight. Our dedicated rescue team, foster carers, and vet have spent months working with her … safely tapering her off all medications and helping her lose 6 kg. Today, Catie is 100% drug-free, fully rehabilitated, active, and thriving. She has found her zest for life again, and her bright, soulful eyes say it all. WHAT WE’VE LEARNED ABOUT CATIE: Catie recently spent time in a foster home environment, which gave us the absolute best insight into what she wants and needs in a home: She wants to be an ONLY DOG: Catie doesn't want to share her humans with a pack or a revolving door of pets. She wants to be someone’s whole world, and in return, she will give you her whole, unbroken heart. Your Personal Shadow: Catie loves home comforts and being close to her human. While she can be a little cautious at first, once she trusts you, she will quietly follow you everywhere—whether you're tidying the bedroom or relaxing in the lounge. You’ll never have to bath alone 😄 Affectionate on Her Terms: When you sit down, she loves nothing more than curling up right beside you. She isn't a clingy lap dog, but she gently lifts her pointy nose up to yours to ask for soft kisses on the tip of her nose The "Dramatic Faint": Catie loves being brushed. The second she sees a dog brush, she will collapse to the floor in a dramatic faint, ready for her spa session Loves Car Adventures: She jumps straight into the car and absolutely loves heading out for days out and quiet walks. House-Trained & Well-Behaved: She is completely clean indoors, has no accidents, walks nicely on a lead, and can be left happily for reasonable periods without any issues. CATIE’S IDEAL FOREVER HOME: To ensure this next step is her forever step, Catie needs a very specific home environment: Only Dog Household: A quiet home where she can be the sole center of attention. Quiet Rural / Semi-Rural Location: Away from the hustle and bustle of busy town centers. Secure Garden with a Lawn: She loves lying outside on real grass, sunbatheating, and processing the sights and sounds around her. Rescue-Experienced, Patient Owner: Someone who is around for a good portion of the day and willing to let her build trust at her own pace. Catie is a true "soul dog." She has been through so much in her six years, but she is ready to give everything to the right person. REHOMING PROCESS: Catie is being rehomed through 1 Dog At A Time Rescue. All potential adopters will undergo a home check, and an adoption fee applies. Catie comes fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and with full rescue backup for life.
