Description
Shadow is the cutest 5 month cavapoo. He’s so loving and docile, and he matches the energy of his owner. He shows so much affection with licking and laying by your side. He’s a small size - around 5.5kg and makes new connections and bonds with everyone he meets, he garners a lot of attention. He has a comfy crate he only sleeps in and he never potties where he sleeps. Shadow also sleeps during the whole night, from 10pm-7/8am. He’s very affectionate and attentive.
Shadow enjoys taking naps, going on walks, doggy treats, raw food, jumping, going outside in the garden and meeting new people. He is fully vaccinated and has flea and worm treatments I am still administering monthly.
Shadow gets startled by loud noises and will bark at them to alert you - this occasionally includes the TV. He is scared of mops, balloons and vacuum cleaners. He doesn’t tend to eat normal dog food - occasionally he may eat kibble, though he prefers raw/human food.
Shadow is great with children and adults, however with other dogs he tends to resource guard and try to take their food. He will need to be the only dog in the household to ensure he is getting enough love and attention. He is also not fully house trained yet. He responds to sit and stay commands and recognises his name, but he will require a patient owner who is willing to continue his training. He also likes to chew household objects — although he can be redirected with treats, he may return to them if not supervised. Shadow is very curious and will try to explore, so care must be taken to ensure he is not let outside without a leash. He doesn’t particularly enjoy baths and may try to get out, but settles once handled confidently.
I have his toys, kibble, cage, blankets, harness and leash which are all included in his rehoming fee.
I will be starting an apprenticeship in September and, with the change in my schedule and environment, I won’t be able to provide Shadow with the level of time, attention, and space that I believe he should have long-term. As he is still young, I want him to transition into his forever home as early as possible so he can fully settle and build a strong bond there.
I am in no rush and will be selective when choosing a home, as his wellbeing is my priority.
Shadow must be going to a home that has a large secure garden he can run around in, responsible and patient owners, preferably a large family so he can get lots of attention, and not in a home where there is another dog, and especially not a large or aggressive dog that might intimidate him. Owners must be financially stable to ensure they can afford his preferences, preferably children as he loves bonding with them. You must be willing to send me a video of your home/garden so I’m confident he will thrive.
You can visit him as many times as you need to before making your decision. I need to request his vaccination card from the vet, it also contains his microchip number.
