🌸 Meet Ruskin – A Gentle Soul Looking for Her Forever Home 🌸
Ruskin is an 8-year-old mixed breed girl with the most beautiful nature to match her fluffy good looks. Rescued in Cyprus as a puppy, she has known love and stability all her life — until recently, when her elderly owner sadly moved into a care home. Now Ruskin finds herself searching for a new family to see her through her golden years.
Currently in foster care in Bath, UK, Ruskin is a calm, affectionate companion with plenty of spark left for countryside adventures. She enjoys long woodland walks, pottering through nature, and remains forever hopeful that this time she might catch a squirrel. She hasn’t yet — but optimism is one of her many charms.
Ruskin is medium-sized (around 26kg, though she could do with losing a few kilos… please don’t tell her we said that!). She loves a cuddle and a good chest rub, but is equally happy relaxing on her own or soaking up the sunshine in the garden. She’s lived most of her life in a rural home with active retirees and would thrive in a similar home.
She can be left for a couple of hours, has excellent manners, enjoys toys (and treats them gently), and learns quickly. Her recall is good, she checks in regularly on walks, and she builds strong bonds with the people who care for her. Ruskin has been an only dog for much of her life but is currently sharing her foster home with a calm elderly greyhound and would likely enjoy the company of a gentle male dog.
Health-wise, Ruskin is doing very well for her age. She has a few typical senior lumps and bumps (all checked and not troubling her), and she’s recovering nicely from the removal of a benign lump on her paw — sock and all! She has a lovely thick coat and benefits from regular grooming to keep her looking and feeling her best.
Despite all the recent upheaval, Ruskin has been an absolute star. With a patient, understanding family to help her settle, she will reward you with unwavering loyalty, quiet companionship, and so much love.
✨ Ruskin truly is gorgeous inside and out — and she’s ready to find her forever home. ✨
