This is Nacho and he is 4 years old (DOB 4/10/21). He is currently with his owner in Bedfordshire and he is looking for a new home which has been a tough decision to make. Nacho was originally from Spain and arrived when he was 10 months old. He is neutered.
Nacho needs to be an only dog. He is living with 2 dogs but it is not working out and he has to be separated from them. So we need to find him a home where he can have his freedom more often in the garden and be the goofy boy that he is.
He loves his garden, running to try to chase the pigeons and squirrels. Not many dogs like the rain but Nacho does! A nice little soaking and then indoors for a towel rub.
He likes to settle on the sofa in the evening for his calm time and sleeps in his crate from 10pm to 7am quite happily.
Nacho lives in a quiet area so he doesn’t see much traffic. When he does he is a bit nervous by it including tractors. He can be wary of strangers. He can be a little strong on the lead. As a scenthound, his recall is very hit and miss so he is only off lead in the garden or in a secure field.
Nacho is a very bright boy and a bit of a Houdini if allowed. So here are the bits you need to watch out for! He can open doors even if the door is locked but the key is in the door, he has worked out how to turn the key until it unlocks – wow! So locked doors need the keys taken out for Nacho. He can slip his collar quickly so when walked he still needs to be on a harness and a slip lead.
He loves his toys but can be destructive with them including bedding. He just needs some tough bedding and toys to stop him in his tracks.
Nacho has been around children of 7 and 10 years old without any problems.
Nacho has not been left long with his current owner so we are looking for a home where someone is there daily and only out for a short time until he can settle as an only dog.
Nacho's owner has spent a lot of time training with him which he enjoys so this would be great if it could be continued.

Please note: We are looking for a secure garden with fencing or walls to a minimum of 5ft. We also need the dogs to be kept on a lead, long lunge lead or for people to use enclosed fields for off lead exercise as these dogs are scent hounds & have hunting backgrounds. We do not rehome with children under 8 years old.
