Description
Toothless, is the most loving, caring, companion. She follows me around all day, she will be wherever I am and preferably on top of whatever task I’m trying to accomplish like iron my clothes or work on my laptop. She loves to cuddle, play and sunbathe.
Toothless is very friendly to other pets and people, interacting with strangers without a problem but can be jealous of her owner, often getting frustrated at me when I’m on the phone and not giving her attention, lightly hitting me with her paw.
Toothless did not have an easy start to life, she was a stray cat I took in last winter (December). At first I thought it was very odd for a stray cat to be as “fat” as she was. As the time passed, I noticed she struggled to pass poo, leading me to start treatment with laxatives whenever she struggled. As this became frequent I thought it was worth visiting the vet again. We discovered that whilst she was living on the street she suffered a pelvic injury, potentially from being kicked or hit by a vehicle. This fracture never healed correctly and led to a narrowing of the back passage which led to the development of megacolon.
Toothless has had an enema to clear all her bowels and is not on treatment to stimulate normal function of the bowel and keep her poo soft to avoid it getting stuck again.
This treatment is unfortunately quite expensive for me (I have recently become unemployed) she needs a fibre rich diet, special attention to her litter box, frequent visits to the vet (when she struggles to pass poo) and can only eat wet food.
I hate to see her suffer, she is so special! Even at the vet taking injections she will not hiss, scratch or anything like that. She will only run back to me to feel safe.
I would love to hear from anyone who believes they are able to provide her with a loving home, with the attention she needs and has the means to afford any treatment she may need throughout life.
I am extremely heartbroken to be in this situation as I would love nothing more than to keep her, but I would rather see her well in a different home then not be able to afford her care and see her suffer.
She is microchipped and vaccinated. Will come with litter, all her leftover food at the time of collection, a carrier bag, water bowls, a water fountain, toys, scratchers and medication.
I look forward to hearing from any kind soul who is willing to carry on looking after this absolutely angel of a cat.
(The platform requires a minimum fee of £50 but I am open to giving her away should the right person come along)
