REHOMING NEEDED ASAP
After much thought & consideration, I’ve come to the difficult decision that I am no longer the best fit for Apollo - my beautiful one year old male German Shepherd. This has not been any easy decision as he is the best & most loyal dog, but due to sudden unexpected personal circumstances, I can’t give him the life that he deserves & would like to find him a loving, forever home for him. I would really like to be kept up to date with photos & videos of him as he grows, so would like an open rehoming.
Apollo is a handsome, intelligent German Shepherd with a big heart. He thrives in a calm, structured environment & I’d love to find him a home where he can be given the proper time & attention that he deserves. (It is best for Apollo to either be the only pet in the house, or for a dog of a similar size to him, not smaller).
He’s incredibly smart & quick to learn new commands, & is affectionate. He is crate trained & can be left in the crate for short/medium time lengths. He knows basic obedience, loves walks, & bones! Apollo’s absolute favourite toy is a tennis ball - he could play fetch all day long! He likes chew/tug toys & squeaky toys also.
Apollo is reactive around other dogs, so so he will do best as the only dog in the home/only with dogs a similar size to him, with a handler who understands reactivity & is committed to ongoing training & structure. He doesn't do very well in dog-parks but would love a home with a garden or going for walks to quieter walking areas/fields.
We have spent lots of time & money on dog trainers working on loose lead walking & dog reactivity - We have been told by trainers that he is anxious-reactive & not aggressive reactive, the reactivity comes from a place of anxiety.
He has never been aggressive towards another dog. He can also pull a lot on the lead, so would need a strong handler as it can be a lot to manage.
He is up-to-date with vaccinations & is microchipped. I can provide all paperwork for vaccinations & microchip. I can provide XL dog crate, dog bed, collar, harness, lead, dog brushes, toys, etc. Happy to negotiate on price as long as I am happy he is going to a happy, loving home.
