Sadly, we are looking to find a new home for our 7-year-old male domestic long-haired cat after many years together. This is an incredibly difficult decision, but after many years of trying to help him settle, including working with vets and behaviourists, we have come to the conclusion that he is simply not happy in our current home. We have tried different approaches to support him, but unfortunately nothing has made a lasting difference. We have noticed a significant difference in his behaviour when he is the only pet. When our dog has been away, he has come out of hiding, spent time downstairs and become much more confident, relaxed and happy. We therefore strongly believe that he would thrive in a home where he is the only pet, without dogs or other cats. He needs a calm, quiet and loving home with someone who understands that he is a sensitive cat and will give him time and space to settle and build confidence at his own pace. An experienced and patient cat owner would be ideal. This is absolutely not a decision we have taken lightly. We love him very much, but after years of trying to make things work, we believe finding him a home where he can be genuinely happy is the right and kindest thing we can do for him. We don’t want any money just the right home.
