Description
Dixie aka Amber, is a beautiful 3.5 year old Poodle cross, currently in Tyne and Wear.
Due to absolutely no fault of her own, little Dixie is looking for a new forever home, her family circumstances have changed beyond their control, they have made the very difficult decision to rehome Dixie.
From Her current family -
My name is Dixie I came to England from Cyprus in October 2024.
I would describe myself as playful and loving. I do have separation anxiety when my
humans aren’t around, when I’m confined to my crate I don’t like it, most times I make a fuss and cry even though it’s a safe place.
I can initially get excited and bark when someone comes to our home but I quickly calm down, I behave in a similar way when I’m outside but usually it’s because I want to protect my humans or because I want to play,.I guess I’m just not confident but once I get to know someone I’m usually ok.
As you will see I am very white and some say cute, I don’t shed hair but need grooming every 4 or 5 weeks. I’m all up to date with the vet. I do scoot sometimes and then I need my anal glands checked.
The ideal home for Dixie, is with someone at home most of the time, or can take Dixie with them when they are out, although Dixie can stay in her crate for upto 45 mins or so, this is not always pleasant for her.
She is energetic as a 3.5 year old and very much enjoys her daily walks, exploring and running. She enjoys playing with toys, and other dogs’ company once she has briefly met them.
Children must be over 10 years old, she must have a safe and secured garden, and an adopter that will continue to work with her separation anxiety.
Dixie was given away from her family in Cyprus, the family in the UK saw the post, they are regular visitors to Cyprus, they met Dixie too. We helped them by taking Dixie to a foster home in Cyprus whilst being prepared to fly her to the UK
