Dakota
Dakota is a 16 year old Irish sport horse mare standing at 17.1. We bought Dakota from clithero auction a few months back and she was advertised to us as a hunting horse and has previously lived at a show jumping yard and was used as a riding school horse. As we have brought her home we got her jabs done (which now may be out of date) and got the farrier and physio. Her front 2 feet she stood happily but her hind legs were are still unable to lift up she does cow kick but this is nothing malicious we think it’s more of a trust issue. With getting the physio out she adviced me to either sell Dakota as a broodmare ( she has had 2 foals previously) or sell her as a companion because Dakota is a very loving horse she loves people and horses, she cannot be left by herself because she has tried to jump the paddock fence if left alone. Dakota can live in or outgrown she’s just happy eating and spending time with other horses. We would love to keep her but we cannot afford to just keep her without having more use out of her so Dakota will be sold as a companion (use her as a broodmare if wanted) and be adviced she also has a slight limp in trot but this doesn’t really affect her and the physio has checked her legs through. She can be a little spooky but she has gotten a lot better since arriving with us. Dakota will just be sold from her stable and she will be sold just with her head collar, also be adviced she does need her feet trimming we are just still unable to get her to lift to hooves.
