Description

This is Millie She’s a 2 year old Toy Poodle she’s full pedigree (mum and dad both full breed) but not KC Registered. Shes chipped Vaccinated Not been spayed She’s looking for a special home that she can call her forever. She’s generally obedient, loves people, crate trained, can be left for periods of time although this isn’t something that’s done often as there’s generally always someone home here. She currently lives with children, another older resident dog and a cat, However we are increasingly finding it very hard to manage her very hyper/excitable/very playful behaviour, she is too much for our older dog and it’s causing some increasing ‘snappy’ behaviour between them because Millie won’t be told! She has also recently taking to chasing the cat! Although she’s seemingly ok with dogs/cats I think she’d maybe do well as an only dog, or with a well matched resident dog (our older dog is very laid back, calm she’s is definitely the opposite) She loves fuss and people but this presents as repeated jumping up at everyone, and even when you catch her in a calm state and try to fuss /praise this as a wanted behaviour it causes her to get very very excitable and resume the jumping up/racing around! Shes great on lead and off, my elder daughter (14yo) has often walked her off lead and she had a brilliant recall and would play with her tennis ball 24/7 if there’s someone to throw it! This is a very hard decision for us we were really hoping with consistency with boundaries she would calm but it’s very very important she goes to the correct home with knowledgeable owners as more time goes by it’s becoming clear we aren’t the right home for her we are a very busy home and I wonder if this is contributing to her excitable behaviour as when everyone’s at work/school and just me home she’s generally very calm. but she’s spending her day being told no, get down, and our younger children being more and more wary of her as she’s so so bouncy, and abit unpredictable, so she’s having to be put in her crate which she’s ok with generally but doesn’t like if she’s in her crate and our older dog is being allowed outside for instance. It’s also important to note any potential new owners recognise the costs involved with her grooming and coat maintenance, she’s currently bathed 2 weekly then full groom every 4 weeks this is something she finds quite stressful but she been building a good relationship with our groomer hence the bath then groom so she’s visiting more frequently to help build trust and reassurance so it’s important this is worked on as she will obv always need grooming to maintain her coat. Millie will come with everything she needs and has here… Crate/bedding Lead/collar and harness Food Bowl
