Hi, and thank you for taking the time to look at our advert. We are a Local Authority licensed, ethical breeder, meaning we have been inspected and meet the rigorous standards set under the Animal Welfare Act 2006. The welfare, care and long-term wellbeing of our dogs is at the centre of everything we do, and that extends well beyond the day your puppy leaves us. We offer lifetime support to all of our puppy families and firmly believe our responsibility does not end at handover, it is the beginning of an ongoing relationship.
Over the years, our puppies have gone to homes across the UK and into Europe, and we are very happy to provide references from many families who have been through this journey with us. Our process begins with an initial telephone call, giving us both the opportunity to ask questions and make sure we are aligned. If we are all happy to move forward, we will arrange a video call via WhatsApp or FaceTime. This allows you to see the puppies with their mother, and the environment they are being raised in, while also helping us get to know you better. It is important to us that every puppy is matched to the right home, as this is a commitment for the next decade or more. Following this, we will invite you to visit in person.
We currently have a litter of 6 Showline Cocker Spaniel puppies available, 3 girls and 3 boys (1 chocolate girl, 3 black boys, 1 black girl and 1 chocolate sable girl). Mum is our beautiful, gentle, Kennel Club registered girl, and the sire is also our KC registered boy and in fact we also own Grandparents to the puppies, and a Great Grandmother which can also be viewed and come from highly respected bloodlines with multiple champions in their pedigrees also.
The linage of these bloodlines are renowned for their beautiful quality pups and this is further backed up by excellent DNA and Line Clear health tests. Both mother and father have tested clear for FN, prcd-PRA, AMS, cord1-PRA/crd4PRA, GBM, MTC, PP and Xanthinuria. Copies of parents pedigrees, grandparents pedigrees and all health test paperwork is available for inspection at puppy viewing. The litter will be KC registered.
This litter will be endorsed for breeding and export pedigree and will only be sold as pets.
Both parents have fantastic temperaments, mum, Boo Boo is extremely calm and is very friendly towards everyone. Dad, Bala loves to run and run across the fields on his daily walks and is very interested in meeting new people and is always friendly and has a fantastic disposition just like Boo Boo.
High Inbreeding Coefficients are also another area where health problems can stem from (conservation organisations suggest that in dogs a figure of 12.5% or above significantly increases the risk of health problems). The pups have an Inbreeding Coefficient of 0.03% which is well below the Kennel Club breed average COI. For more information please pop over to our website blackfordashdogs.co.uk.
The puppies will be wormed from 3 weeks of age and flea treated if required. They will be microchipped and will leave us from 12 weeks of age (3rd September), following two full veterinary health checks and completion of their vaccination course (first and second injections, plus kennel cough). We keep our puppies beyond the standard 8 weeks to ensure they are more physically and mentally developed before entering their new homes.
All of our dogs are fed a raw diet, and the puppies will be introduced to this using Cotswold Raw Puppy food when appropriate. From birth, our structured 12 week socialisation programme exposes each puppy to over 90 environmental and situational stimuli, repeated multiple times. This ranges from early handling and touch, through to sound exposure, interaction with different animals (from other dogs to livestock), and a wide variety of people of different ages. The aim is to develop confident, resilient puppies who arrive in their new homes ready to explore and adapt, rather than feeling overwhelmed. This early foundation makes a significant difference to areas such as toilet training, crate training and general learning.
You will receive a full record of your puppy’s socialisation programme, along with guidance on how to continue this process at home. Our experience across training, nutrition, grooming and general canine care is always available to you, for the lifetime of your dog. Our blog, “The Dog’s Blog,” offers short, practical articles on all aspects of dog ownership, and our podcast, The Doctor and The Dog Man, explores the deeper relationship between dogs and humans through ongoing discussions and expert insight. Testimonials from previous clients are also available and give a clear picture of the support we provide.
Each puppy will leave with a comprehensive puppy pack including their veterinary health record, vaccination details, socialisation documentation, copies of parental health tests, pedigree information, and a family tree. We also provide a toy carrying the scent of their littermates to help with the transition. All puppies leave with 4 weeks of Petplan insurance.
A non-refundable deposit of £300 will secure your puppy. We encourage prospective owners to choose their puppy from 6 weeks of age (23rd July), once individual personalities begin to develop, allowing for a more suitable match between puppy and home.
