Description
Superb quality Rough Collie Puppies, show and family home quality. Especially selected to bring new genes and health to our country, DNA tested parents non carriers DM, MDR1, PRA, CEA, DMS low. Parents are not related.
Puppies are raised following Canine puppies Whelping and Socialisation demanded by DEFRA, they are available to view with both Mum and Dad.
This is our second litter for Rocheview in Cornwall, We have brought this litter to you from breeders of great heritage. Wicani in North-East Yorkshire and Ellen using Twas, a satellite of the family business Van M. America.
Prairie came to us via Atirakin who bred her from Wicani Licence to Thrill. After witnessing the quality puppies from Wicani, Atirakin requested a Tricoloured bitch puppy from the next litter clear of CEA. The hard work of Wicani had broken through and Atirakin of Somerset were sold one of the first ever litters fully clear from common genetic diseases affecting the Rough Collie, in this Country, a puppy bitch called Mallison in 2017. Our last Litter was great, but when breeding, it is so important to widen the Gene Pool, of the Country to prevent mutation and degradation of the breed. So every time we breed, I use all my experience of breeding livestock, to transferring the skills of genetics. When the time comes to breeding my very precious bitch at her final litter, her mate had to be worthy of her, hence my journey.
Atirakin Wild Hialeah, is a totally clear non carrier, with a very inky black coat, I did not wish to lose that, so with funds from her last, most beautiful litter, it was time to travel to other Countries. Whilst I sat thinking, who will I get for Prairie for her last litter when the time comes, out of the blue an advertisement from across the pond. I was looking for size, bone, girth, clear DNA, great gait and stand, with Movement as if he was walking on air. There he was, I had to have this lad as my own, especially for my little princess for the future.
He ticked all the boxes for me, but the best was about to come, the journey begun, I travelled alone to the Land of US and kennels of Van M, I was beside myself with excitement. When I saw Baron, a then 6 month old puppy, we fell in love with one another, a lad who has become a friend to everyone we meet and of course, every girl and boy he sees.
I am so happy with buying Baron to add to my kennel, as he will bring the new genes into this Country and beyond, to Europe has he becomes older, he has already qualified for Crufts 2026. Prairie has achieved, amongst other prizes Best of Breed 2025 Royal Cornwall Show & Liskeard District open show, September 2025. They have been a good match of clear non carrier Genes for common genetic mutations. The desirable (Wicani Black) with mean with Baron’s colour it will be enhanced, not diluted.
Both of these parents have gone to make up a beautiful combination of puppy, not only clear health, but temperaments that encompass everything a family would want in a Rough Collie. Where are the Clear, Non Carriers, of CEA, DM, IU, GCS, PRA, MDR1, with Inky Blue Black Coats, Deep Tan, against bright white, Nice straight legs, tipped ears, who glide when running, with the temperament that depict everything one would want in a family dog, who would be a best friend to all, or a future stud male for a breeder. Then I have got 7 of them.
