Description
Hello, my name is Eve a labrador/hound girl now I am now in foster in Devon, UK.
I was found on ****************** Eve, abandoned on a remote beach with nothing to keep me safe.
That is how I got my name.
I was only a young girl, but I had already learned to be afraid. Afraid of people. Afraid of hands. Afraid of the world getting too close.
I cannot tell you what happened to me before I was rescued, but maybe I do not need to. You can see it in the way I move carefully, in the way I watch before I trust, in the way I need time before I am brave.
Since coming into rescue, I have been trying.
I now walk on a lead. I come for treats. I am learning that people can be kind, even if I still find them a little scary.
My steps forward are small, but for me they are huge.
What makes me feel safest is other dogs. I love them. I understand them. I follow their confidence when I cannot find my own. That is why I need another friendly, confident dog in my future home, someone to show me that life is not something I need to fear.
I am not the dog who will run straight into your arms.
Not yet.
But I am the dog who will quietly watch you, slowly trust you, and one day make you feel like the luckiest person in the world because you were patient enough to wait for me.
I need love. I need kindness. I need a calm home that will not rush me.
I was found with nothing.
Now I am hoping someone will give me everything I have never had.
A safe place.
A dog friend.
And a person who will believe in me until I am brave enough to believe in myself.
