Description
This is the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make in my life and it’s one that has taken me over 2 years to make. I rescued Reggie from Romania 2 and a half years ago, since then I have put in an incredible amount of work to make him into the amazingly well behaved dog that he is today. So much so that I began dog training as a hobby because I was seeing such good results. However, no amount of training can change a dog’s genetics and unfortunately he is just never going to be comfortable with our baby boy. Reggie feels very uncomfortable around children and therefore he is constantly having to be separated from us in the house and moved from room to room when our boy is around as it probably is not safe. This is only going to get more difficult for Reg as our boy grows up, especially if we have another child and it’s just not fair on Reggie.
Aside from this I believe that Reggie would be much happier in a house with more routine, less other animals and children. Reg is at his happiest once he has a good walk in the morning and can then relax in a quiet home.
Reggie is one of the most obedient dogs you will ever come across and has no behavioral issues other than not liking cats. You can see just how good he is on my training Instagram here. You will also see just how much love, care, time and effort I have put into him which is why this is going to be so incredibly difficult for me to do and also why I won’t be rehoming him to just anyone. The person would have to be the perfect fit.
