Looking for the Right Forever Home for Belle 🐾
This is the hardest post I have ever had to write, so please be kind.
Belle is a 1 year old Pomeranian x Beagle mix. She is up to date on vaccinations and flea/worm treatments. She is not spayed yet as I was waiting for her second season. She will NOT be going to anyone who intends to breed her.
I have had Belle just over a month. Unfortunately, since moving homes she has developed severe separation anxiety, and despite trying very hard to help her, I cannot provide the environment she needs long term. I live in a busy family household and work, and it is not fair for Belle to be in a home where she panics when left.
This decision has been heartbreaking and is not being made lightly. Her wellbeing comes first.
💛 About Belle 💛
~ Extremely affectionate and bonds deeply with her person
~ Sweet, gentle nature with people she trusts
~ Funny, quirky personality that will make you laugh every day
~ Very clever and loves enrichment, sniffy games, and learning tricks
~ Fantastic potential as a walking or hiking companion — she loves exploring the countryside
~ Recall was coming along really well and she thrives in quiet outdoor spaces
~ Good in the car, but when she is nervous or stressed she can get travel sick, so she may be sick on the journey to her new home
She truly shines when she is out on peaceful nature walks away from busy environments.

⚠️ The Important Part
Belle struggles significantly with being left alone.
She currently:
• Becomes very distressed when left
• Has chewed the bottoms of doors, ripped beds and rugs
• Vocalises constantly when alone
• Stress wees indoors when anxious
• Did not cope with crate training due to panic
This is anxiety, not “bad behaviour.” She needs a home where someone is around most of the time and where alone time can be built up very slowly and gently. She is not suited to full work days out of the home.
She is toilet trained in a stable environment, but any move may cause temporary regression.

🐕 Behaviour & Social Notes
• She is anxious/reactive toward strangers and dogs and will need continued positive training and confidence building
• She has never shown aggression, just fear and overwhelm
• Walks are lovely in quiet areas but stressful in busy places
• She may be able to live with another calm dog, but slow introductions would be essential
• She can live with cats, but may playfully chase at first
• Due to increased prey drive in my home, I would not recommend small animals
• Good with children but can get overexcited and mouthy during play, so supervision is needed
🌲 Belle’s Ideal Home
✅ Someone home most of the day (WFH, retired, flexible schedule)
✅ Calm, patient household
✅Minimal time left alone
✅ Someone who loves long countryside walks and outdoor adventures
✅ Experience with anxious or sensitive dogs preferred
✅ Commitment to gentle, positive training
Belle is a loving, sensitive dog who needs stability and a person who has the time and emotional space to help her feel safe in the world. I will be asking questions and taking care to make sure she goes to the right home, not just the first one.
If you feel you could offer Belle the life she truly needs, please message me with information about your lifestyle, experience, and what kind of home you could give her.
She comes with everything I have for her. Food, meds (if any left) blankets, toys, treats, crate, bowls, training stuff, beds ETC
This is devastating for me, but I want her future to be brighter than what I can offer right now. 💔🐾
