Description
Polly was born in Crete. We do not know her history before she was rescued, but we imagine it was not filled with safety or happiness.
The local police were called to the highway, they had reports of a dog thrown onto the highway and was running on the busy road.
Polly was so lucky kind people called the police, as many years ago, stray dogs were dumped on the highway routinely as a means of getting rid of them, as they knew dogs would be hit and killed by cars, their problem fixed.
Luckily it isn't routine now, but it still does happen. And that was meant for Polly.
The Police rescued Polly as she came to them easily. But with no foster places, she was chained to the side of the Police station, she has a house and food but no hope.
We try and help the Police find families for the dogs they rescue, otherwise the dogs remain.
Polly is a happy, active, friendly, loving girl. Sadly she had to remain on the chain but friends walk her, take her in the car, take her to the beach and meet other dogs to ensure she remians sociable until she is ready to travel.
Polly is good with dogs, people and even cats. She weighs 18kg and is medium sized. She is a mixed breed, parents unknown.
Polly will arrive into foster in West Sussex very soon and will be available for adoption.
We will have a full foster profile once she has arrived and she is assessed.
We cannot forsee any issues with Polly, but she will need a family who has the time to give her walks and guidance and make sure she meets dogs regularly.
Polly deserves a life of adventures, fun, love and safety.
