Meet Kira 🐾 Kira arrived anxious but has blossomed into a gentle, affectionate girl who adores attention and gives it right back tenfold. She’s still a little unsure in new situations — visitors might get a bark and a cautious distance at first — but she settles quickly and is never aggressive. She loves other dogs, especially her best friend, a German Shepherd she plays beautifully with (and has even enjoyed sleepovers with!). She’s also wonderful with children, a touch wary to start but soon relaxes and trusts them completely. Kira is happiest in the garden, chasing toys and — impressively — leaving the flowerbeds alone. She’s reliably toilet trained and always lets you know when she needs to go out. On long leads through fields and woods she walks beautifully, and she relaxes nicely off-lead in enclosed spaces, usually coming back when called. Busy town streets, traffic, and crowds are harder for her, and she’d rather avoid them for now. At home she sleeps soundly overnight, greets every morning with real enthusiasm, and takes vacuum cleaners and washing machines completely in her stride. She’s happy to be left alone for up to four hours and has never been destructive — bar one memorable afternoon spent “reading” a shredded newspaper! Food is a big motivator and she’s always hopeful for a snack. The home we’re looking for: Because busy streets, traffic, and noise cause Kira real anxiety, we’re hoping to find her a quieter, more rural home — somewhere with a large garden where she can safely spend lots of time outdoors, away from the hustle and bustle that unsettles her. Kira has grown so much since she arrived, and she has so much love left to give. She just needs the right family to keep giving it back. Kira went into foster in Hertfordshire on the 15th June Her Story Kira had an owner but he didn’t have time for her. She was passed to another family member but they tired of her. One of our volunteers discovered she was going to be taken to the kill shelter so she was rescued. Freedom Angels regret we cannot consider applications for Kira from People under 25 years old People with children under 8 years old Homes without direct access to a private and secure garden Homes where the dog will have to be left alone more than 4 hours in a working day Tested for known parasite conditions. Also for Leishmaniasis. Pursuant to government regulations all dogs have their blood tested here in the UK for Brucellosis prior to entry and enter the UK within 30 days of the blood being drawn. All dogs are microchipped.
