Description
A loving home is needed for a beautiful rescued dog who is currently in Scotland, but transport can be provided. Muneca’s passport states that she is 10 years old but that is debateable, as she has the look and vitality of a significantly younger dog, although she is past the puppy stage.
Muneca’s current owner lives in a small flat in an urban area and intended to only adopt one dog but adopted two from the same shelter, as they had both been in cages for many years. The other is older than Muneca and has a medical condition that needs ongoing attention. The owner is finding it difficult to adequately meet both their needs but is, nevertheless, reluctant to part with this very loving and beautiful little soul unless an adopter can meet the specific conditions that she considers necessary to provide Muneca with the full life, love and affection that she deserves.
Muneca is a lovely companion in the home. She is very calm and sleeps most of the time but loves human contact and likes to keep an eye on the whereabouts of her human companion. She walks quite well on the lead, has good recall, and responds to the command ‘Stay’ but this tends to slip when outdoors if she becomes distracted by squirrels or cats, or detects rats, in which case she is eager to chase and can pull hard to do so. Some additional lead training would be needed in this area.
As Muneca displays a natural hunting instinct, her current owner would ideally like to see her with a single person, a couple, or a family with older children that has a large, safely enclosed garden or grounds, with regular or occasional access to large open spaces, where she can be allowed to run off the lead without fear of traffic. (Her owner is happy to directly answer questions from any potential adopters).
Muneca means 'doll' in Spanish and that's exactly what she is!
If you are looking for a very special, little companion, with endearingly playful ways and feel that you can meet these requirements with lots of love and kindness, please offer Muneca the happy, forever home that she has hoped for all her life and truly deserves.
