🐾 MEET MAISIE — A CLEVER, LOVING GIRL LOOKING FOR HER FOREVER HOME 🐾 Maisie was rescued in Cyprus and is living near Stanley, County Durham. Sadly the situations between her and the older dog in her current home has changed and to enable the older dog to live the rest of her life peacefully her current family have taken the decision to find Maisie a new family. Maisie is a beautiful 4-year-old crossbreed. and DNA testing shows she is mainly German Shepherd and Labrador. She weighs 25kg and stands 56cm at the shoulder. Maisie loves people and attention. After a good walk she settles well at home. She can be nervous in new surroundings and is learning how to stay calm when meeting new people. She’s a very intelligent girl who would benefit from a family who are able to keep her active and busy both physically and mentally. Her favourite activities are nose games and mantrailing: she loves following a person’s scent to find where they’re hiding. This can be more tiring for her than a long walk! Maisie is generally good on the lead. If she sees a squirrel for example, she may launch towards it. She can also be reactive to some dogs, particularly those who stare at her or react first. However, with a human who is happy to help her, she can be managed through a situation. She is clean in the house and will bark to let you know when she needs to go out. Maisie is crate trained and sleeps happily in her crate until you get up. When left alone, she may cry for a few minutes before settling. She loves travelling in the car and will happily jump into the boot. Maisie would be best as the only dog in her new home and given her excitement around small furries would possibly be better as the only pet in her new home. An active person or couple who can offer Maisie regular exercise, perhaps scent work, training and a calm, happy home could be a lovely match. Older children may be suitable, but her exuberant greetings and jumping could be too much for younger children. Maisie is bright, affectionate and a happy loving dog.
