This is a truly heartbreaking situation for me. After much heartache and soul searching I know I have to do what is right for my beautiful and beloved dogs. I have Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis and my condition has been much harder for me to cope with. Therefore my beautiful dogs are not getting the enrichment and exercise that they need and deserve. I absolutely adore my dogs but have had to except that the situation is not best for them. I have been a dog owner and animal lover all of my life, so coming to this realisation has been very tough. Coco is a Chocolate and tan dapple, smooth haired Miniature Dachshund and her husband Gus is a Black and Tan smooth haired Miniature Dachshund. They are a bonded pair and are very much Mr & Mrs. Gus’ date of birth is 19/03/2023. They are the most lovely natured furry family. They have grown up with children and couldn’t be any softer. They absolutely love human company and given the chance would be with you EVERY second, including in the loo! They both love cuddles and playtime. They are very typical Dachshunds, they don’t like the rain and there is a high possibility they may go outside, hide somewhere dry and then pee on the floor when they come inside. They do bark at the door bell and will murder every single cuddly toy you get them, but they are soft and sweet and mainly well behaved. They have been crate trained but lately sleep together, loose, in their bed. They are used to being left for periods of time, but I am at home most days. I have been unable to walk them properly since March, so they desperately need more activity and enrichment. Not that they are badly behaved without, they are the same as always, but it is just not fair on them. They are both good on the lead, although Coco likes to ‘talk’ to everyone. They also loved going to the dog field. Gus has great recall, Coco not so much. They are both fabulous little personalities. Gus loves to climb into your lap and be cuddled like a baby. When he is really excited he does a tap dance. Coco talks to you and has a very particular bark when she is ‘talking’ to you. I think it’s fabulous. She also likes to get her T-Rex arm out and dig your foot for attention, again very funny. Gus and Coco have had two litters together in the past. They were bred because of their fantastic nature and are both PRA clear. Their babies were so lovely, when they had another litter two years later, owners of their first litter had already got their names on a waiting list for another pup. Testament to their fabulous natures. Both dogs have now been neutered. They have had no health issues at all and are wormed and flea treated (we also have cats). I am looking for the perfect home for them. I have been unable to work since March, so they are used to having someone around. I would also want to keep in close contact with, as these dogs are very special to me. They will not be separated or go to someone who will leave them at home on their own a lot. They need to have everything they have with me, plus the exercise and adventure they deserve. Both dogs are currently raw fed and I will send everything they need with them.
