Description
It is with a very heavy heart that we must seek a new adoptive family for Zeus. I work away a lot, and my wife struggles to cope with him alone, as he is big, strong and quite demanding! ( she has a degenerative spinal condition that makes walking him quite challenging!) as it’s fair to say he does pull on the lead a lot of the time. That said, he is a gorgeous and lovely natured BFG! We did take him to training classes, but to be honest I didn’t like their methods…..
He is fully grown now, but still a puppy at heart, although he is around the 34kg mark. He is big and strong, and requires requires plenty of walking and running, so would need to go to a home with a reasonable size house and secure garden. He is absolutely fine with children and other people, and reacts well with most other dogs……he just wants to explore and play with anyone and anything he sees!
He has a lovely nature, and is very obedient when not distracted. He is crate trained, although if we go out he’s fine loose in the house alone for a few hours. I wouldn’t like him to be with anyone who didn’t have the time at home to be with him, not to be left all day if you were out at work!
He loves nothing more than running free and playing ball in a large secure field where we often take him, he also goes swimming at a local dog pool, and is quite the diver!
He is very friendly, loving and likes a cuddle, but sometimes doesn’t know his own strength!
We are not looking to part with him lightly, but ultimately it must be for his benefit, and we will need to be certain that whoever wants to have him in their life will give him as much as we have, and more!
He has been regularly vet checked, chipped and insured, with regular worming and flea treatments and we have him on a continuous vet plan. In fact, our vet has said if every dog he saw was in such good condition, he’d be out of a job! He has no health issues whatsoever, but as he is 50% Dalmatian, has a mainly chicken and fish diet, no red meat or offal. He eats a quality compressed natural food which we will provide details of. We have a full multi page reputable DNA report which is surprisingly accurate!
He costs around £100 per month in food and vet plan and insurance, so please understand the financial responsibility, as well as the compassion and energy needed!
To sum up, you will need to have enough time, space, and energy to give this boy the life he deserves, 100% of the time.
If you think you may be able to offer him what we want him to have, and reply to this post, please tell us about yourself and circumstances and why you think you can offer him a loving forever home!
The only way will will consider him leaving us, is if we are 100% happy with you, as his leaving, whilst best for him, will be heartbreaking for us…..
Dave & Jackie.
