Description

It breaks our hearts to write this, but we are looking for the perfect forever home for our beautiful German Spitz x Pomeranian, Ted. Ted was born on 12th May 2025, so he has just turned 1 year old. This is not a decision we’ve made lightly. Sadly, one of our children has severe autism and, despite our hopes that Ted would become a wonderful companion for him, it has become clear that our child simply doesn’t enjoy being around dogs. Because of our family circumstances, we feel it is fairest to find Ted a home where he can receive the love and attention he deserves. Ted has a fantastic temperament and is incredibly affectionate. He absolutely loves being around people and is happiest when he’s with his family. He’s playful, loyal, loves cuddles, and has so much love to give. He has grown up in a busy family home with children and is gentle and friendly with them. He enjoys meeting other dogs and can become very excited when he first sees them, but once he has had a chance to say hello and play, he settles beautifully. We regularly let him off the lead in the park, where he has excellent recall. Ted’s Details * German Spitz x Pomeranian * Male * Born 12th May 2025 * 1 year old * Neutered * Microchipped * First vaccinations completed (next booster due soon) * Happy, healthy and full of life Training Ted has made a great start with his training and is eager to learn. * Knows “Sit” * Excellent recall to both his name and a whistle * Crate trained * Used to a family routine Like any young dog, he would benefit from continued training and consistency, particularly around managing his excitement when greeting other dogs. He’s still young, intelligent and responds really well to positive reinforcement. Feeding Ted currently eats dry food only and does very well on: * Royal Canin Dental dry food * Bakers dry food We did try introducing healthy cooked food, but it didn’t agree with his stomach, so we’ve kept him on dry food, which suits him perfectly. Grooming Ted enjoys being groomed and is used to regular grooming appointments. His beautiful coat is easy to maintain with regular brushing. Exercise He only needs around 2-3 walks per day, each lasting around 20-30 minutes, making him relatively low maintenance while still enjoying plenty of play and exercise. What’s Included Ted will come with: * His crate * Grooming brush * Toothbrush * Remaining food * Any other accessories we have for him The Home We’re Looking For Ted would thrive in a home where someone is around for much of the day. He loves company and enjoys being close to his people. While he is happy resting quietly in his crate for short periods if you need to go out, he is happiest when he can be part of family life. We are looking for a loving, permanent home where Ted will be treated as part of the family. Finding the right home is far more important to us than anything else. Ted has been priced to sell due to our family circumstances, but this is a genuine and heartbreaking rehoming. Because of this, and to avoid further disruption to Ted, all sales will be considered final, so please only enquire if you are confident and ready to offer him a permanent home.
