Description
Dennis (Den) is an 8 month old male miniature dachshund. We bought him in August 2025 at 8 weeks old for our 2 young children, he has been a lovely puppy, great with the children, cuddly, loving and needy like most dachshunds, working from home full time means he has company most of the day and if you sat for 4 hours without moving he would happily sleep on you the entire time. Den is almost fully house trained now, as long as you open the back door regularly and give him the chance to go out he will. He loves running round a park or the beach and being off the lead, not as great at walking on the lead and certainly does not enjoy the rain. We recently moved house in December from London to Devon and have spent a lot of time up and down for work, its been a huge change for the children so am really focused on schooling, clubs etc, my job is very full on and in all honesty I just don’t feel like we have the time Den deserves. He is a puppy, he wants to play, he is cheeky and full of energy. This is the first dog I have had and with 2 young children I just underestimated how hectic life would be. Although we have done the hardest part, I feel there is a family out there who could offer Den so much more, my sister got 2 dachshunds shortly after us getting Dennis as they loved him so much so he is used to being around other dogs, he loves having other dogs over to play so someone with another dog might be a great fit for him, and if he is with a family by himself I think someone who can make plenty of fuss of him. He is all up to date with vaccinations, fleed and wormed, he is KC registered and microchipped. He would come with his crate which he sleeps in every night on the landing, he has slept in this since the day we bought him home so he is used to being in there throughout the night, although if he is fast enough to run out when opening the gate he will happily snuggle up in your bed, but available if you want a dog thats crate trained, he would also come with his 2 beds, blankets, food, lead and harnesses, toys etc. Anything thats his would be available to take. We are looking for the right home for him and this is a really tough and sad decision for us, so please only message if your dog lovers and can take him on with plenty of love.
