Description
Hi, my name is Bear š»
Iām 6 months old and Iām looking for a very special forever family. Iāve been told Iām the cutest little fluffball ever⦠but Iāll let you decide that.
Iām a Lhasa Apso x Shih Tzu mix, which means Iām affectionate, playful, and love being close to my humans. I really enjoy cuddles, attention, and playtime ā I just want to be near you.
Iām still so young and thereās a whole life ahead of me filled with adventures, cuddles, and new experiences. Iām excited to explore, learn, and make memories with my forever family.
š My Story
I didnāt have the best start in life. I was rescued from a caravan where I had been neglected and my fur was badly matted. After that, another home cared for me briefly, and then my current family took me in to make sure I was safe.
We have only had Bear for 3 days, but from the very first night it became clear that a strong allergy had developed in the household. We were absolutely heartbroken, because we wanted to keep him so badly. Heās already stolen our hearts ā but we knew it wouldnāt be fair to him to stay with us when we couldnāt provide a long-term home.
Even though itās incredibly hard, we wanted to make sure he had the best start possible in his next home. So we got him all the necessary vet treatments, a proper checkup, grooming, and microchipping, so that when he goes to his forever family, heās healthy, comfortable, and ready for a happy life.
Bear is now a healthy, sweet little dog who deserves a loving, patient family where he can finally feel safe and secure ā and we just want to make sure that happens.
𩺠His Health
First vaccination: 9th February
Second vaccination due: 4 weeks after the first
Microchipped on the 9th
Last worming treatment: 9th February
Slightly itchy ears, being treated with vet-approved drops and cleaner
Vet is happy with his overall health
Vet advice on walks: Bear should avoid farmland and stagnant water for now. He can start walking on pavements and safe urban areas from 16th February, after 1 week from his first vaccination, but needs his second vaccination in 4 weeks to be fully protected.
š¾ Personality, Routine & Training
Bear bonds very closely with his people. He loves attention and playing, and heās happiest when heās near you.
He is not destructive at all in the house. Heās very sweet and learns boundaries quickly when they are calmly and consistently applied.
Because of his unsettled start and moving between homes, he can be a little anxious at first. Sometimes he has small accidents indoors, but this is linked to anxiety and adjusting, not because heās naughty or doesnāt understand that toileting should be outside.
With a consistent routine, patience, and reassurance, this will improve. He needs someone who can dedicate time to him and help him feel safe and secure. The first few days in a new home may be overwhelming, but over the following weeks he will settle as he learns that heās not being abandoned and that when you leave, you always come back.
At night, he prefers sleeping close to his humans. If left alone, he may bark at first because he misses you, but he is learning and making progress.
š§ Mental Stimulation
Because he canāt go on proper walks yet, Bear really enjoys mentally stimulating play. He loves toys that make him think, sniff, and work things out. Weāve been hiding treats in folded socks and soft toys to keep his little brain busy, and he really enjoys that kind of enrichment. There are lots of great puzzle and enrichment toys he would love in his new home.
šØāš©āš§āš¦ Children & New People
We donāt have children, so we canāt say for certain how he would be long term. A previous home had children and reported he was fine around them. However, we have noticed that he can be nervous around children and unfamiliar people outdoors ā he tends to cower slightly and act anxious rather than bark or react. With gentle handling, patience, and positive experiences, his confidence should continue to grow.
šæ Ideal Home
Bear would really benefit from a home with a secure garden where he can play and explore safely.
He would do best with someone kind, patient, and committed to continuing his training and routine.
Thereās so much life ahead of him, and heās ready to experience it all with the right person by his side.
š Why He Needs a New Home
Letting Bear go is one of the hardest things weāve ever had to do. We love him dearly and would have kept him in a heartbeat if we could, but severe allergies mean we simply cannot. Our priority is finding him a forever home that is loving, stable, and patient, where he can thrive, feel safe, and enjoy every day of his young life.
We are very reluctant to let him go and want to make sure he ends up somewhere permanent, safe, and full of love.
š What Comes With Him
Bear wonāt come empty-pawed! He comes with:
ā His toys
ā His bed
ā Food and treats
